Born in a small town in West Virginia, Jonua always wanted to explore the world and create. Immediately after her graduation from Marshall University, she did a study abroad in Lyon, and spent some time in Paris, where she met her husband. Within one year she moved to Paris, and shortly after started creating one of a kind jewelry. Wanting to create on a larger scale, Jonua now has a set line of fine jewelry, made in her studio in La Rochelle, France.
Jonua is a self-taught metalsmith and holds a BA in Geography, with a minor in English Literature and French Culture. Inspiration for her work comes from a blend of Industrial objects and nature. Her work is simple and classic with a tiny flair of uniqueness, giving the everyday woman and the not so everyday woman pieces to wear.
Jonua has had the opportunity to lead two artisan networking teams, one in Paris, and one virtual European team. She has also been a group leader and helped to plan a series of events at the Mona Bismarck Museum in Paris, sponsored by Etsy and Janome. And more recently, she has been featured in the Rochelais magazine F’ames, talking about her life as an expat and her work.
